Thanks Ed
Save all your old bodywork until you are done. You will need the grommets, seat re-enforcement plate etc…. Your old pieces work great for templates as well.
Special tools - ¼ inch drill bit and ½ inch wood drill bit. (Use the ¼ for pilot holes and the ½ to accommodate the grommets as required.) Your application may vary with the fasteners you choose.
True your fairing stay. Mount stay on bike at this point.

Once your stay is true and mounted drill your first hole in the centre dimple of the upper fairing.

Once you’ve mounted your grommet. Hang the upper fairing on stay by centre mount. This will allow you to ensure that the nose piece is true relative to the bike before you mark the holes for the side supports.

With the nose piece in place you can now test fit the lower. If you are using the original clips and Allen bolts you should mount your clips and drill the small holes for the Allen bolts in the lower where it joins the upper.

Now you can test mount the lower and mark both the holes for the upper / lower joint and side holes from the inside. Now you are ready for the final fitting.

Now you are ready to mount the tailpiece. First mount seat plate.

I used bolts not rivets for this to ease changing the tailpiece later if need be.
Now drill your holes for mounting the tailpiece and you are ready for the final fitting.

Take your time and measure, mark, check and re-check before you drill. This is not just a one-hour job. Your results will depend on your attention to detail.
Once all the pieces are fitted you are ready to think about paint. Remember to degrease and prime the pieces before paint
