Royce Mclean

Royce McLean is an energetic 11 year old from Coaldale, AB who is quickly catching the attention of the mini road racers in Canada. Royce began riding a 50cc motorcycle 2 years ago in April 2004. In his first season of mini road racing the Youth 8-10 Class, Royce finished the season with five 1 st places wins and two 2 nd place finishes out of an eight race series.

In 2005 Royce rode on the Lethbridge Yamaha Youth Road Race Team. He raced the 4 stroke Yamaha TT-R125, a bike that weighed 3 times his body weight. At the 2005 Canadian Nationals Royce won 1st Place in the Youth 10 -14 Class and 2nd place in the (Adult) Clash Class. Then in the final standings of the 2005 AMRA series, Royce won the 2 classes that he entered, 1 st Place title in the AMRA Youth 10-14 Class and the 1 st Place title in the AMRA (Adult) Clash Class.

Royce’s success has taken a lot of hard work, practice, off season training, tons of advice from some of Canada’s top road racers and fellow mini road racers. In the upcoming 2006 season Royce will ride for the Lethbridge Yamaha Youth Road Race Team on his Yamaha TT-R125 4 stroke, and his new 2006 Yamaha YZ85-RR (road race version).

When Royce isn’t racing a motorcycle, driving his off-road 4x4, or selling race fuel as a part time job, he enjoys being a kid, reading, playing in the dirt and having fun with his friends.

Note: Royce would like to thank his sponsors;
